Genre: Romance, Drama, Angst, Slice of Life
Summary:For a man who lives alone, flowers were the only things that could make him feel at home. Their varied colors gave him warmth and comfort, just like him...

Yabu Kota, a 27 year old lanky, self employed guy. He owns a coffee shop in their town, which was said to have an incredibly delicious and calming coffee with unique branding. All of his creations are named after different flowers which are usually done to teas. His weird and unique taste was his trademark and to his friends he was a remarkable person having such an exquisite shop of his own at a very young age.

His hobbies were off-track of a young man’s. He likes to go fishing alone or tend to his -their flower garden in his days off. One would often see him in his shop early in the morning brewing coffees that he will serve to his customers.  He handles these coffees delicately as if he’s caressing a young woman’s hand, a really solemn guy he is.

One Sunday morning, as he was indulged in brewing coffee, the bell of his shop rang as the door slowly opened welcoming a tall tanned young man.
“Hello there Mr. Coffee” the man said, “What’s with the nickname?” Kota asked, “Well you were smiling at that coffee, you’re name is Kota so Mr. Coffee, haha!” Kota just shook his head to his friend‘s not-so-funny joke “Shut it Hikaru, you’re making my coffee taste bad with your lame jokes.” He commented, his friend, Hikaru sat in front of him grinning. “What?” Kota asked, “Well we planned a group date”
Kota sighed softly “When?” without looking at his friend, Hikaru furrowed his brows, “What’s with the sigh?” ,
“Nothing, so when?”,
“Tonight” Hikaru said. “So you’re coming?”
“Yep, how could I refuse?” Kota answered beaming a smile of confidence.
“ Yosh! That’s my buddy!” Hikaru exclaimed, “Well you guys wouldn’t do without me right?” Kota added.
“Don’t go ahead of yourself dude! and I’m doing this for your own good”,
“Mine? Why?”
Hearing his friend’s question, Hikaru raised his brow “Well, Kota you’re already 27 turning 28, and you haven’t had any serious relationship for err, 5 friggin’ years!” Kota smiled, “What?! Don’t tell me you don’t plan to?!” Ignoring Hikaru’s speech, Kota continued to stir the coffee he was making.
“Seriouly Kota, why won’t you get a girl already?” Kota stopped and looked at the latter, “Hikaru, I’ll tell you on Dai-chan if you don’t stop pestering me”
“Whaaaat?!” Hikaru abruptly stood, “I was just concerned you know!”
“Then you don’t need to, I’m happy the way things are now.” Kota said in a low voice making Hikaru sighed in defeat.
“Okay, okay just don’t tell Dai-chan we’re having a group date. He’ll kill me if he knew that I planned this without him” Hikaru sat back “One coffee please”
“Sure” …

The sound of clattering dishes and boiling water echoed as the smell of freshly brewed coffee engulfed the silence between them. A few minutes later Kota placed a newly brewed coffee in front of his friend,
Hikaru took a small sip from his coffee and savored the calming sensation it gave him.
“Chrysanthemum” Kota said looking at the latter; Hikaru on the other hand choked glaring as he said “Damnit Kota, stop doing these embarrassing things. Prepare this for a girl!”

-Chrysanthemum: You're a wonderful Friend

Kota laughed at his friend and said “I treasure you as a friend, at least be happy about it” with that statement Hikaru stared blankly to Kota for a few seconds before the bell the coffee shop rang for the second time revealing another two bright guys “Osu!” Kota and Hikaru turned their heads to the door “You’re late!”
“O’cmon, you’re too early Hikaru!” a slap landed on Hikaru’s back. “That hurt!” Hikaru retorted eyeing their friend. “Rose coffee please~” Yuya ordered as he sat next to Hikaru.
“So, what are you talking about?” Daiki asked as he went around the counter while putting on his apron to help Kota prepare the coffee, “Chrysanthemum” Kota answered making Daiki and Yuya snort “Cheesy!”, “Shut it!” Hikaru complained and a small fight started between the three, making Kota smile “Five years huh…” he said in a low voice as his gaze was then diverted at the corner of his shop, there placed a table decorated with a delicately patterned white vase of Pink Carnation…

“It has been five years, Kei…”
