Summary: Distance is nothing but air.
He thought it was fine just looking at his sun from a distance. Knowing that his selfish feelings won’t reach him, he stayed three meters away so that no one, not even him, would realize how he truly feels. Yet that distance, it kept on growing and his Sun, Yabu Kota became too far for him to reach. He slowly felt the anxiousness of not being able to see his smile, that certain smile that could brighten anyone’s day with just a simple glimpse. That three meters, which is now drawing into far more distance than that he have set. Loneliness slowly swallowed his frame and the fear of losing sight of the one he loves the most insanely grew.
Yabu Kota shines brightly; it was so bright that it became so hard for him to keep up. Feeling so alone, he felt like he was walking on a dark endless road, scared and yes -alone.
“I don’t want this…” Kei abruptly crouched down and hid his face in between his knees and arms, “…I don’t want this…” he sobbed just like a lost kid who loses all hope to be reunited to his mother. His cries echoed, and the pain in his chest was so much for him that he just wanted to cry his heart out and just disappear so that he wouldn’t feel such despair of losing his light.
But then again, whenever there is darkness, there would always be a light and that light pulled him up from his loneliness.
“Kei-chan?” Such beautiful nasal voice he had admired so much, “Why are you sitting there, and hey! Why are you crying?!”
“It’s you…” Kei muttered but not enough for the latter to hear, “Eh? What? Is something wrong? Are you hurt?” Kota asked, worry present in his tone while scanning Kei’s frame looking for something that might have hurt him enough to make him sob. Instead of answering, Kei just looked at the guy fussing over him, biting his lower lip as tears kept on flowing from his eyes. Silence was there for a moment when Kota stopped from fussing over Kei and looked at the latter rather troubled, wondering if he had annoyed the younger.
“It’s because of you!” Kei blurted out making Kota stare at him in awe with his mouth slightly open, he was lost in words. “M-me?” Kota finally asked and Kei nodded softly as a cute pout formed in his lips. Kota sighed and composed himself before asking “Okay, why me?” he scratched his head a bit, he was confused. Who wouldn’t right? Suddenly being accused of something you didn’t know, of course one would be confused.
Kei then took a deep breath before saying, “You were going too far!” he exclaimed, “it’s too far! You should be staying in that three meter radius I have set! You shouldn’t be going beyond that!” he cries, “y-you…don’t go…” he sobbed “…or else, it would be very hard for me to catch up…I will lose you, I won’t be able to trace your steps anymore…” he kneeled, as if strength left his knees, “…I just want to see you …I want to be with you but you were too dazzling for such a dull person like me…I love you, I like you…but -“ he paused, “but please…don’t hate me…” and wailed like a child.
Seeing the usually calm and composed Inoo Kei it was as if Yabu Kota’s world crumbled down, but then again it was refreshing because the latter was always holding back, always setting himself last, and making himself less.
“Kei-chan~” Kota called playfully, “listen to me okay?” he took a deep breath, "It is within that three meter radius you have set that you lost sight of me, that you couldn't trace my steps anymore, you say? Well I guess better luck next time." he took his hand and slowly kissed it, as if it was a delicate princess' one. "With me holding you like this, that radius is nothing but air," a soft caress "...You lost sight of me, yes but it wasn't because the distance grew, it was because I turned and started to watch you. You couldn't trace my steps because I was the one who is following you, so..." a gentle smile escaped from his lips, "Don't cry, see..." he pointed at his face "I'm just right here, your Kota is just right here..." and with that assuring words, Kota pulled his Kei into a tight embrace, telling him that he is real, and he didn't go away.
Because even if everything will go against his way, Yabu Kota will never leave his Inoo Kei alone wouldn't he? Even if that three meter radius was set by his princess, this tall lean figure will never leave him alone; especially that Yabu Kota is the only person who knows how fragile Kei is.
Who would even leave a pretty-gluttonous-brat princess like Inoo Kei? Well it is not Yabu Kota.
