(no subject)
writing after a more-than-year-long absense. a year ago i had no idea where i'd be a year from then...here i am. sitting in my apartment on an island in the middle of the nile...dirty dirty room...sounds of traffic and my doorman calling out to somebody on the street drifting in through my window...along with sunlight and cold air. i have class in an hour and it all seems so normal. i have a cell phone with arabic texting capabilities...which i use every once in a while, and i actually get calls. from people in egypt. who'd have thought i'd have friends in egypt? ever? life with its swirls and loops. i'm going back to CA in a little more than two months...it's funny how people establish things only to leave them.
