Do you like barbershop harmony? I have always loved it and I just posted these videos for an LJ friend and thought I'd post them here, too. This is the quartet who won the Sweet Adelines International Championships in 2013. Their tight harmonies boggle my mind. Give a listen and be transported.

Both groups have amazing harmonies. I'd never heard a female barbershop quartet before.

Glad you enjoyed the videos. The Sweet Adelines have been around since 1945. I actually like them better than their male barbershop counterparts.

You are my Sunshine has so many memories for me. My mom used to sing it to me quite a bit. And The Tennessee Waltz - I loved that last note!!

Beautiful! I considered auditioning for the Sweet Adelines many years ago, when I was singing harmony with friends so much.

My college had an all female octet called The Small Ensemble and I was in it all four years. We called it "The Small E" and we sang everything from madrigals to barbershop. There was a men's glee club and the full college choir, too. The men were awesome.

Is there a Sweet Adelines group in your area? You could still audition I'll bet.

Yes, they have the closest harmonies I've ever heard. They're amazing.

I didn't know you couldn't sing. Do you just mean not well? Certainly you can carry a tune, can't you? Those women in the video have the closest harmony I've ever heard. Amazing!
