What?

I've come to the conclusion that not living is the same as living, but not. I mean, really what defines something as living anyways? According to wikipedia and my old Biology classes it was -
1. Organization - Living things are comprised of one or more cells, which are the basic units of life.
2. Metabolism - Metabolism produces energy by converting nonliving material into cellular components (synthesis) and decomposing organic matter (catalysis). Living things require energy to maintain internal organization (homeostasis) and to produce the other phenomena associated with life.
3. Growth - Growth results from a higher rate of synthesis than catalysis. A growing organism increases in size in all of its parts, rather than simply accumulating matter.
4. Adaptation - Adaptation is the accommodation of a living organism to its environment. It is fundamental to the process of evolution and is determined by the individual's heredity.
5. Response to stimuli - A response can take many forms, from the contraction of a unicellular organism when touched to complex reactions involving all the senses of higher animals. Plants also respond to stimuli, but usually in ways very different from animals. A response is often expressed by motion: the leaves of a plant turning toward the sun or an animal chasing its prey.
6. Reproduction - The division of one cell to form two new cells is reproduction. Usually the term is applied to the production of a new individual (either asexually, from a single parent organism, or sexually, from two differing parent organisms), although strictly speaking it also describes the production of new cells in the process of growth.

While most of you probably agree with that, as would many professional type people (many stupid people are likely to believe this as well, because the smarter people (or god) tells them to).

But let me be non-sensible and stupid for a moment and prove to you that a living person doesn't need any of these. So really, where is the line between living and not living?

To make matters even more simplistic, I will insert personal examples into my incoherences.

1. As stated above, Organisation is nummer eins. I have no organization. None at all. For instance see my bedroom - (picture to be inserted later, or never). For that matter you could also look at my face and notice how one of my ears is slightly lower than the other or how my nose seems to linger almost un noticeably (unless of course your are staring quite hard and long) to the left. Therefore, this one does not apply to me, and moreover life in general shall not be determined by it.

2. Metabolism - Well I've got one of these. Although I don't seem to do any thing with the energy besides sleeping. Therefore, this one is half tree.

3. Growth - I seem to be shrinking. False.

4. Adaption - Nope, still have learned the German language. Nope, still don't look German. Nope, this ones not happening.

5. Response to stimuli - I should really post some of those stories where I turn down sex with hot chicks and such. Stimuli doesn't effect me, and I give no response. I'm also quite quiet and often like to let people talk. NO RESPONSE.

6. Reproduction - Well.. Can't say I've made any babies yet. Therefore, this - like the the last five - is false.

There you have it, Yeti's reasons why living is not living, and not living is living.

PS: Yes, I've lost my mind.

the universe, and everything, life
