It was a Saturday and Jim knew for a fact Bones was on shift because he had assigned the schedule so he ought to know. Or, maybe he was just that efficient of a stalker best friend. Either way, he showed up in the cafeteria on his lunch break only minutes after McCoy had appeared there himself. Jim would have patted himself on the back for his excellent timing if he were ten years younger, but he settled for a mental pat because he was feeling mature that day.
He beelined for McCoy's table, taking a seat across from him and grabbing one of his french fries immediately.
"You haven't changed your mind, right?" Clearly, he was a master of subtlety.
