This yarn is also Socks That Rock Silkie, in one of the Ravens colorways called "Rooky". I love the Ravens; they're multicolored yarns dyed over with black. I especially love them in the Silkie base yarn, since the silk holds the background color and it doesn't pick up the black as well. The all-wool base yarn is less variegated and more black with highlights, so while it's fun and quite wardrobe-useful, the base colors are more obvious in the Silkie.
I knit shawls (and scarves) in Silkie because I don't think that the yarn will do well in socks. I've knit it on small needles and I don't like the stiffness of the fabric. Plus, it's beautiful in shawls and has a great hand and drape, and it really makes great lightweight shawls.
I very much liked the pattern 198 Yards of Heaven. I wanted a full-lace body, where the patterning runs from the edge of the shawl all the way to the center. The pattern was well-written and easy to work through.
