Believe me, I'm basking in the glow and I stayed up until 3:00 so I could watch it again. It is still a double-edged sword for me because whatever contraints Josh claims, he could have slipped in a few morsels over time and he just let it get away from him and didn't focus.
That doesn't diminish the Sandy/Ryan, only make me long and hunger for all we missed in the meantime and all the joy we could have experienced with such simple moments during the events we can't even imagine. If we couldn't imagine any of what we've gotten- play it forward.
And I hate to be negative when I'm on the high from the episode, but Kirsten needs to be lashed for her lack of attentiveness, concern, vigilance and commitment to the kid she professes to love. To see her again focus on her own issues as she did first with Dawn, in terms of alcoholism and shortcomings as a parent/mother and her issues with Caleb by forcing Frank on Ryan and putting Ryan at risk when he is so fragile and still struggling to keep his head above water is reprehensible. She puts a vulnerable, traumatized kid in harm's way- again and puts adults who have hurt him before him. That's the antithesis of a mother or even just a responsible adult.
