now that's what i call random!

MEERKATS. Until just a few moments ago while reading an old National Geographic (guess where!) i was only aware that they are charming rodenty animals that i would like to pet. Now i know that they are in actuality a fascinating fuzzy nonverbal people.
speaking of personafiable rodents, i saw this fat fuck while on a walk a couple of weeks ago. I'd never seen one before so i didn't know if it was a) a beaver! b) a crazy wild guinea big c) time to like go into Johnny Carson Wild Animal Combat Stance. So i said, ever so unprofessionally, 'hey coworkers who i don't really know well people as but go on walks with at lunch - WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?'. my Boss said 'oh it's a Nutria', like they are the state vermin and everybody's used to them. don't misunderstand: i'm not scared of it as much as i am intrigued...

JUNIOR PIMPS UP, ME DOWN. I got a random disturbing yet funny prank voicemail while shopping for sand at Home Depot yesterday. I won't say it was a wrong number because i announce my first name on my voicemail in the attempt to avoid confusion such as this. So that's why it's baffling. By the sound of the voice, the message was recorded by a pre-teen hoodrat, 'hard' beyond his years. He was mumbling something about "you owe me some SEX (i *think* that's what he said!?) bitch and you better return my call, fo i have to come by your house and shoot it UP!" It's not like i haven't been a prank call victim before, it's been a deal my whole life pretty much, but Man - the emphasis and cadence (guess you'd call that 'dialect') was so odd that's why it's weirding me out so much. It's ALMOST like it could be the work of (by the looks of it) a worthy archnemesis who paid for it to be done just to fuck with me personally. heh. Cause being randomly and vaguely threatened and confused WHILE amused at the same time is a specific peculiar feeling that really gets to me, um, specifically. It was like i was transported back to high school for a moment. fuckin prank callers. The battle rages on. guess they must seek me the fuck out. maybe cause i'm so easy - they always win, i always lose, they tell their friends.

Greatest things to happen to me in my life, so far, during this lovely holiday weeked:
(1) discovered a really great recipe (wink!)
(2) NETFLIX. i finally joined, just now... and golly is it a world of entertainment at one's fingertips, before you even get any movies in the mail (which will be fun for the whole fandamily, i can just smell it). i have so many reviews to write on there, s'gonna be so much fun (recently: The Golden Child - oh my goodness i loved it. The Squid and the Whale - almost as bad a flat and disappointing Indie Gimmick as Jesus is Magic) i've been rating all morning with no sign of stopping much to Chris' dismay. Cause like.... i think he might like to check his email at some point today. ok i'll try to wind it down. BUT FIRST: if anybody else (yay, Josh!) on my esteemed friend's list is a Netflix person we should friend up and recommend shit for each other!!!
(3) watched FIREWORKS with absolutely NO effort on my part (the way the good Lord intended it i'm pretty sure) out the back window of this cramped, stuffy, yet suddenly outstandingly located apartment - that's MY kinda fireworks. Living adjacent to a high school athletic field is, though wholly temporary, pretty annoying most of the time. Between the constant stadium cheering (my personal enemy of entertainment-concentration) and the weird smells from whatever chemical they lay down on the track that week... Well, i'm willing to let that shit slide cause after July 3rd's lengthy game there was a really long and really good fireworks display. Hopefully they'll do that shiz again tonight.
(4) i finally got Chris to hold still for The Shawshank Redemption (i will admit that i was getting sick of hearing me hype it too!). and he loved it like he knew he would the Whole. Time. boo-ya<3! everyone else really seemed to like it too, and that's what i'm going for.
(5) finally started watching Spaced, which i aquired from my long-time UK-based e-pal oh like a year ago. it's this HILARIOUS British sitcom w/ a lot of Shaun of the Dead people starring Shaun himself, who I am absolutely in full celebricrush fixation with. It's sadly not available in America, yet i hope. I'm on episode 3 and i'm already in love with it.

Happy 4th to MEEEEE!
Happy 4th to Everyone!
i miss my home-people!
