Revelations
It's a few hours into the evening by this point, and Tamamori has learned a lot of... interesting things about his groupmates and the other gathered members. He's also told them more than he'd ever imagined he would- not entirely willing, although on some level, it's kind of nice to have shared secrets, once he gets over the embarrassment factor.
The dares have gotten progressively more risque as the night wore on, but they're more comfortable now. It's not as odd as it was when they started. Which is why it comes as a surprise to Tamamori when Kitayama dares Miyata to kiss Kawai (on the lips, for thirty seconds), and Tamamori realizes that Miyata hasn't kissed anyone at all yet.
Miyata pouts and makes eyes at Tamamori, even though he's replying to Kitayama.
"But I'm saving myself for Tama-chan."
"Tch." Tamamori rolls his eyes and throws an empty paper cup at him. "Shut up. We're not even dating." He scowls to hide the fact that he's a tiny bit pleased by the statement.
Miyata pouts some more, but the others all jump in to tell him to get on with it, and Kawai spreads his arms with a leer. "All yours, baby."
Miyata slides over and nudges Kawai back a bit for a better position, and something coils tight in Tamamori's stomach in response. He wants to stop him, shove Miyata away, but he bites his lip and watches as Miyata leans closer.
Fujigaya's timing again, and at his Go!, Miyata presses his lips to Kawai's. There's a chorus of groans, interspersed with obnoxious yells.
"Gross!"
"Not hot!"
"Ew, no!"
But Tamamori stares, captivated. Despite the shouts that surround them, Miyata and Kawai both have their eyes closed, Miyata's hand resting lightly on Kawai's shoulder. And it looks like Miyata knows what he's doing.
Tamamori clenches his teeth against an irrational flare of jealousy.
It's over quickly, and Miyata scoots back to his place, sticking out his tongue at Kitayama while Kawai dramatically rubs the back of his hand across his mouth. "BLEH."
Tamamori finds it hard to laugh along with the rest.
--------------------
It takes a while before it comes around to his turn again, and Tamamori doesn't mind the wait. There have been a few surprising dares now, and he's just a touch nervous.
"Truth," he says, and Totsuka's eyes light up in delight. Tamamori's heart rate picks up a bit. He had hoped with Tottsu he'd be a bit safer, but maybe not.
Tottsu leans over to whisper something in Goseki's ear, and he in turn gives Kitayama a look. Tamamori can't follow it, and he doesn't like it.
"Hey," he says loudly. "Not allowed." He doesn't actually know what is and isn't allowed, but neither does anyone else seem to, and it works for the moment.
"Okay," Tottsu says, a secretive little smile on his face. "So, Tama-chan, tell us in detail. How exactly did you feel when Miyacchi kissed Fumikyun?"
Tamamori stares at him in horror. "What? No. I-"
"So you'll take the dare, then?" Yara interrupts, and no, Tamamori really doesn't want to do that right now, either, considering where Tottsu's train of thought seems to be going.
"...no." Tamamori stares at the floor. "It's fine."
"...well?" Tottsu prompts when Tamamori says nothing.
Tamamori squeezes his eyes shut in mortification. "I was jealous," he whispers.
"What, really?!"
Tamamori doesn't look up, doesn't want to look Miyata in the face.
"Continue," Tottsu says.
"I felt-" Tamamori swallows. "I mean. Miyacchi's always saying that I'm his favorite person. That he loves me. And I know it was a dare, but I still felt like it should have been me. Why wasn't it me? I kind of hated Kawai-kun for a bit."
There's silence for a moment, and then, "There, that wasn't so hard, right?" Tottsu sounds encouraging, but Tamamori mostly just feels a bit sick.
"Hey, look up," Kitayama says softly, nudging Tamamori's side with his elbow. Tamamori really, really doesn't want to, but he fights down the panic that's starting to claw at his chest and raises his head.
The ridiculous smile Miyata is giving him is soothing blanket that smothers the panic and blinds him to all the other grins lighting up the room.
"Really?" Miyata asks again, "Really really?"
Tamamori had thought he'd gotten past most of the blushing by this point, but apparently not. He can feel himself turn red again as he smiles back hesitantly. "Really."
He feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders somehow. "Ne, Miyacchi. Truth or dare," he says, trying not to grin full out himself.
"Dare," Miyata says easily, doesn't break eye contact. "Give me dare."
Tamamori takes a deep breath and reminds himself that maybe it's okay to be selfish sometimes.
"I dare you to kiss me," he says. "Anyway you want."
Miyata crawls over to him amidst hollers of approval and Tamamori braces himself. He closes his eyes as Miyata gently cups his cheek with one palm, and then there's the smallest brush of lips against his, featherlight. He opens his eyes again in surprise as Miyata leans even closer to whisper in his ear.
"Not like this," he says, and Tamamori can barely hear him. "Not with everyone watching. I want you all to myself, just you and me."
And as Miyata backs away, Tamamori thinks that no matter what else happens tonight, he can face all of it, do anything, now that he knows exactly what's waiting for him when it ends.
