In a recent entry on fanficrants over the morality of beta vs. non-beta, someone said the following:
I actually agree on the beta thing, I just don't like having a single person read over my work and pick out it's flaws, I have no issue if I post something and someone tells me what I did wrong, but I just prefer to go over my own work multipule times, usually, I do this about 4 or 5 times before I post, A beta's job is to make the story better? I'd rather do that on my own.
To which I, having had a few drinks in me (hah!) could not resist the urge to reply:
yesidoThere are nine obvious grammatical errors in this 80 word comment that were immediately and bothersomely apparent to me, for an average of one gramatical error every 8.88 words. And I'm not too wicked with the comma placement myself.
To which I then added: yesidofor an average of one gramatical error every 8.88 words
grammatical, sorry. Unbeta'd comment.
God, I'm a brat. It felt kinda good. I'm gradually shedding my Midwestern sweetness, via the internet.
