I mean its not really free money just the government advance your next years tax return. So if this "stimulation" check is near what your return is usually, than you wont get any return in 2008 or you will get less. I like the tax return how it is because its an extra bonus in the year. So 2008 they are pretty much taking most of that away by

Congress is giving your 2009 self a $600 credit, and is sending that $600 back in time by one year.
