Dec 16, 2009 19:14

[The video shows Reid in the library with books stacked up and legal pads scattered. He's got a digital audio recorder with him as well]So...I don't know what happened on Mars but I'm trying to figure it out. If I could get p-people to talk to me about what they saw in the Pit, or what they experienced on the planet, I'd appreciate it. Anything you ( Read more... )

Planet was empty. Pit was dark. [This is Faith code for I might trust you enough to talk about it but I don't really wanna talk about it. But I actually do.]

Maybe but I'm getting varying stories from other people. I'm trying to find out if on their end at least, what they saw were things that had already happened or fears. [This is Reid just talking because he knows she wants to talk and if he talks enough, she might come around]

Yeah, makes sense. [Not to her, but she'll pretend for now so that you'll listen later because WOE she's so pathetic.] People saying they saw a lot of messed up shit.

E-exactly. It's n-not that bad. I mean, not in comparison to the stories I usually listen to. [See, he's going to remind her that whatever she's got to say, he's probably heard and seen worse or at least equally as bad]

Yeah. Psycho rapists and dead bodies and shit. [True. For the most part.]

Don't forget the cannibals, sadists, masochists and pedophiles. [He really is trying to make her feel better, not be flippant]

[Faith will take flippant any day, Reid.] I think I'll stick to vamps, thanks.

I g-guess they're probably easier.

[Now comes the time where he tries to get her talking about something she's comfortable with. Faith is a challenge and Reid likes challenges]

H-how does that work? The vampire killing? Slaying? I don't know anything about it.

[He's also just curious]

Stake, heart, poof. And don't try it at home, kids. [It's most definitely going to help, at least.] Or cut the head off. Rumor has it B's done that with an exacto knife but I never put stock in that one.

Fire does the trick. Crosses hurt and holy water burns.

[Have a scrunchy face Reid as he contemplates all of this.]

N-no. I'll leave the f-fighting to you. It would take at least 10 pounds of pressure at a straight angle to penetrate the sternum. The pressure is magnified when you p-put...

You probably kn-know this.

Yeah, probably. [It's okay Reid, you're making her chuckle, somehow.]

It's not like, science or whatever. Vamps, demons, all that? It's just magic and shit. I'm not big on the questioning.

S-sorry. I didn't mean to question. I j-just don't know anything about them.

[He takes a couple of suckers out of his bag and offers one to her before unwrapping one and putting it in his mouth]

Y-you must have been y-young when you became a...slayer?

[He thinks that's the word for it but it always makes him pause over the word]

No big, ask all you want. Just saying I don't always have answers.

[She smirks a little and takes it, nodding a thank you to him. Hey, she's psycho, not impolite. Then she shrugs.]

Got called when I was seventeen.

Re: B/C I am lame & Faith just wants to watch Reid with a sucker yes_imagenius December 17 2009, 04:48:08 UTC
O-okay and I d-don't expect you too. No one really does.

[He thinks about that a minute before taking the sucker out of his mouth to talk. He tries really hard not to phrase his question like a shrink]

W-wow. That's a l-lot of responsibility that young. I j-just had to worry about me and my Mom.

MAYBE. WHAT OF IT?! commarogue December 17 2009, 05:24:15 UTC
[The sucker is nice, if Faith's honest. She unwraps hers and pops it in her mouth, because he was nice enough to offer and so that she can return the favor of distraction.]

Drove me crazy. And not in a symbolic way or whatever.

[Her eyes focus on him as she registers his comment about his own upbringing. She's not counting on sympathy but it was something in common. She didn't think that was going to happen with Reid.]

Yeah? Me too.

[see! Now there's mutual nice! Suckers are super!]

You came back from it though. Not everyone does.

[There's a method to Reid's madness. He gives her a very slight, crooked grin]

Mine was sort of...she's a paranoid schizophrenic. Even before I was born she was on medication.
