...about this sarah palin thing is this: She knew if she accepted the VP nomination, this news would become public on a national and global scale. I think that when you become a parent, your first duty is to protect your child. With that in mind, why would anyone choose to have their daughter put in that kind of scrutiny? Why not just decline the nomination and let her have her baby/marriage in relative obscurity? Is Sarah Palin so blinded by her own ambition that she sacrificed her daughter? Is that the kind of person we want one heartbeat away from the Presidency? And the Republican party has the nerve to issue this statement, "The Palins asked for privacy around their daughter and we hope that will be respected." really? if you wanted privacy you should have stayed in Alaska.
And on another note, I hate the religious right hailing her daughter's decision as 'brave, courageous'. If Barack Obama (or Joe Biden for that matter) had an unwed pregnant teen, they would be skewered alive. They would say things like "if a man can't control his child, how can he control his country?"
