Boy was it a full day. We woke up pretty early and I shot a few pictures of the view off our deck which was incredible. Snow on the red rock... just a little but it was still cool. Most of it is still there today.
We head down to Sedona and figure out where we need to go at sunset for my shots of Cathedral rock. Grab breakfast and head for Broken Arrow. This will be about the 6th time we have done this trail but this time we video taped instead of pictures. They came out pretty cool.
Then we headed over to the New Age shop as you cross oak creek into Sedona and picked up a couple books and a really pretty wind chime before heading back to the cabin for room service a hop in the Jacuzzi and such. I started to get in nap mode and jumped up... let's go. no napping here!
We went to Soldiers pass which kevin thought was a really simple 2-4 rating trail. It is an 8 but short. I drove the whole thing... when it came time to climb the hill that makes this an 8 rating to the sink hole, I couldn't do it. What I did climb was about a 6 tho... So I am happy and proud of myself. It was a ton of fun.
The trail was shorter than I remembered so we had some time to kill. It was prickly pear margarita time... yum!! Then we stopped at Crystal Magic (remember that place binsk?) and it is the place to go. We got several stones and struggled with buying a very large piece of amathyst... settling on a smaller one. I think I would like to take the Jerome way out of here and see if there is a place we might be able to get one cheaper.
Now it was less than an hour until Sunset...We raced over to Crescent moon park... set up the camera and waited. I got two different shots. I wanted to set up on this one outcropping but a wedding photographer had beat me to it.
I am heading to Dallas this afternoon so I am not sure when I will get the pictures converted and online... but am going to look at them now :D
