fucking christ, someone shot and killed a cop while robbing 1 of the 2 fifth third banks i frequent down at the other end of mcnaughten. this part of town has been going downhill for a while, but this is a new low.
so i went to the other branch today to cash my paycheck, and people are saying the worst shit, like "I hope they find the sum-bitch and shoot him dead!" and "you know, it was a BLACK man that done it..." with emphasis and a "knowing" nod. i wanted to smack their fat piggy faces. fascism in your own backyard.. nobody would say, "you know, it was a WHITE MAN that done it..." if the situation was reversed. would it be too cold/selfish/discrimiatory of me to mention that this is probably going to shoot the property values here to shit right when im getting ready to put my place on the market? probably, sorry.
other than that, things have been up and down. i went to skully's too late to catch anyone that id promised to that id be there. oops! im sorry!!! :( anna was there though, and geoff, but i only saw them for a minute, and someone that i thought was a very fucked-up anton, but said "you dont know my fucking name!" to me when i tried to say hi, so now i dont really know. i cant see that well in the dark, i mistake people for who they are or arent all the time. the lovely and talented gretchen and entourage were on hand though, so the night wasnt a complete loss. i was totally in the wrong mood to be there though, and im sure people were amused by my "drunken zombie" dance that i tend to do in those cases. they must think im totally blasted. nope! totally sober, just dont care.
movie night with the legion kids crew was pretty sweet. every tuesday they/we (now that i finally got to go!) headed over to the sawmill/bethel rd dollar theater for 50 cent movies night, which is the best thing since sliced bread. we saw the remake of "shall we dance" with richard gere and j.lo, which was not. i didnt mind it too much actually. it didnt hold up against the original, but at least it wasnt mind numbingly boring. i thought it was pretty (unintentionally) funny actually, but im pretty easy to please in that respect (this coming from someone that owns a home safety video narrated by william shatner).
saturday is packed to the gills with things to do. if i survive, ill probably go see dismal play sunday night after work.
saturday:
