a note from my fabulous friend amy (LJ pixiecrinkle) concerning a new Stitch 'n Bitch group for the downtown area...

"Many of you know that I've been harping on endlessly in recent months
about
starting a Stitch & Bitch group in the downtown area (there's one
already
here in Columbus, but they meet in Pickerington). And after having
about
five conversations about this last week, I've finally decided to get
this
started.

If you don't know what a Stitch & Bitch is, it's basically just a time
to
get together at a coffee shop or somewhere and do some crafts while
chatting, helping each other out on projects, having a little show and
tell
with like-minded individuals, etc. So if you knit, crochet, bead,
embroider,
cross-stitch, whatever, or even if you don't and just want to learn,
please
join up.

I've set up a Yahoo! Group for this, so that those of you who've read
this
far and are cursing me and my grandma-ish hobbies don't have to listen
any
more if you don't want to. That way we'll also have a central email
address
and people can choose if they want to be bombarded or not. I'm also in
the
process of adding some resources & links in there too, so feel free to
add
your own.

The address for the group is:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/downtowncolumbusSNB/. If you are
interested in
joining us, or even if you just think you might be, please join the
group
there so that you get notices of meetings.

In addition, please go to the "Polls" section of the site
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/downtowncolumbusSNB/polls) once you've
joined
and answer the questions about meeting preferences. My goal is to have
the
first meeting in the second half of September, so I'll use the answers
from
the poll questions to schedule the first one, then we can find out the
group's preference for meeting time/location after that.

If you know of other people who might be interested in this, please
forward this. I'm hoping that this becomes a regular, but fairly casual
group, so the more people we get, the better.

Thanks!
Amy"
