Comcast came today to "install" our cable internet. The man did nothing that Erin and I couldn't have done, in double the time. The worst part was the injustice of "having to install" the Comcast connection utility on my PC. I hate those things because they are NOT required, and they just gum up the system further. Don't limit yourself to posting from the pooper, man. Use that wireless freedom to just internet it up wherever you want.

It is a boon to all basically lazy disorganized souls who don't feel like stringing a wire every damn place or who might sometimes want to use the internet without getting up out of their comfortable chair.

Oh yeah. I don't really understand how laptops took off prior to wireless internet. The two kind of go hand-in-hand.

COMCAST IS RETARDED. never call them for help.

and if you feel you have tried everything and it still doesn't work, you can call in and say, "i want a technician" and they have to send one. I RECOMMEND THIS.

The issue here is that you should be able to pick up the cable modem, plug it in, and follow 3 steps of instructions to activate it. Instead, they insisted that a technician HAD to come out. What a waste of time and money.

Why?
That's stupid. Whoever you were talking to shouldn't have told you that. You can get a Self Install Kit from fucking best buy and plug it in. Sometimes there's an issue with registering via the CD but then you just call and they push your account through. Takes about ten minutes. I hope they didn't charge you.

Did you sign up in person or over the phone?
Argh. Other comcast employees say the stupidest fucking things. I get calls and I'm like, "I don't know why they told you that." Comcast has the worst training in the world.
