Shopgirl
Among other things I did today, I saw Shopgirl as a sneak preview tonight. You must see it. It really is just wonderful. I read the novella over the summer (thank you Nikki!), but I think even if you've never read it, the movie is wonderful.
Give up any predispositions against Steve Martin, Claire Danes, or Jason Swartzmann, they all played their characters perfectly. The movie is a little slow to start, but it really is close to perfect. If you still doubt me, move your ass to the theater before 2pm. Matinees still exist, folks. Spend $5 and see this movie. You won't regret it.
