"I'd rather go to college in Las Vegas than in Bronxville."

first of all, i thought that this was worth sharing:

AND new in the literary world...i finished reading Rules of Attraction. i'd never heard of it or the movie before; it takes place at a small liberal arts college in new hampshire and basically IS sarah lawrence in its social environment.

((for example...))
-there are midnight breakfasts
-there is a campus hangout called The Pub (in this case, it is ACTUALLY a pub. not the place where vegetables go to die.)
-they have a Dress to Get Screwed party
-a constant topic of conversation is how pretentious everyone else is
-soft-spoken older man lit teacher = bill schullenberger

and ok, so there actually IS a character who goes to sarah lawrence--a raging bisexual alcoholic/coke addicted neopunk who throws a fit in the ritz-carlton dining room, prompting his mother to yell "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU at that school? we never should have sent you there."
i finished it in like, three days. go fig.

i aspire to go candle shopping when i finally have the funds. i need a little mashed potato candle smell in my life.
it's starting to cool down outside. not sweating all day every day is nice.
i miss elizabeth anne trumpower and other slo 7 folk.
my hands are seriously dry.
one of my housemates has recruited me as his personal trainer, meaning that we go running three times per week together. because of the heat and humidity i've been using the gym for its air-conditioned comfort, so it's nice to have an excuse to run outside again. always back to the gym to sit in the steamroom though. mm.
lately, all i want to listen to is coldplay. which is weird.

books, slc, rules of attraction, bret easton ellis
