stuff and things. . .

-  the girls (read: the dogs) have heartworms. they should be fine, since they're young, healthy, active, and don't show any outward signs (no coughing, nothing really), but i cried my face off at the vet's office when i found out. they had their first injection about a week ago, and have been taking steroids and an antibiotic to help them out. they have to stay pretty mellow, so's they don't have strokes, and while they aren't happy about living in a crate, they don't fuss us too badly. they are huge snugglers when they do get hangout time on the futon, though. furry children, i have such love for them.

- so, my workplace takes in rescue animals. about 6 months ago, my boss brought in a feral kitten that she had found. it's name became "feral kitty," and it hated us. it continued to hate us. after the evacuation, it essentially said "fuck ya'll" and wouldn't go into it's cat condo. none of us pushed it to crate up; it wasn't trying to go for the door and seemed to get on with the dogs staying in the office.
a few days ago, i checked 2 dogs in. i left them in the office so that i could clear out a space for them. when i looked into the office next, one of the dogs had feral kitty in its mouth. i started screaming and banging on the door, and it dropped it. motherfucker killed feral kitty.

- i got off of work at 1 yesterday and did so much yardwork. mowed and tackled a corner patch of weeds/general nast with hedge trimmers. i also, with the help of a housemate, finally took down the hurricane boards covering our bedroom windows. a wonderous thing, to regain your proper sleep habits. later on, i babysat my boss' 5-year old (miss camille). it was fun and lively and peaceful and a nice break from our house.

- i've started a book exchange with a friend from work. i've given up on Blindness for the time being, and am reading Jenny and the Jaws of Life. quality short stories, let me tell you.

- today was the first day that i have had entirely off of work since starting back after evacuation. SO NEEDED. i spent 4 hours cleaning our bedroom/unpacking my evacuation everything/wiping down shelves/incensing the bejeebus out of the dog smell and it looks and smells like a million.

- i don't know if i've ever mentioned how much i love the original 90210 series on here.

- i want a steamroom in my house. that sounds like a sweatygood waste o' moneys. i really am excited for when it is cool enough here to use the hot tub again. soaking in there after a nighttime run was just unbeatable. you know, in the realm of hot-water related things.

- for the week, it is in the mid-80's, as opposed to the high 90's and it feels like fall. i'm wearing a sweater, no lie.

anywho. lea is playing diner dash on her cell phone and i want to snuggle her. time to be off.

ugh, i think i have a rash on my chest.

whatsnewpussycat, lists, blah blah blah
