[It had taken a considerate amount of time, But Eridan had figured out how to use the SFC since it wasn't all too different from the computer he had gotten used to while in the veil. And so he types a message.]

[As much as the pap wasn't that damaging, Eridan still gives Karkat a kicked woofbeast face because of it. He didn't think he had said anything entirely wrong. It was true! If he worked on fixing up the place, it'd be habitable!]

That's why I said with some work...

[But he wasn't about to argue it any further. Maybe he'd find that ship in his free time and spruce it up, show Karkat that it was suitable for living in. Like he really wanted to live in some lowly communal hivestem! That was places for commoners after all! And he wasn't some dirty peasant!]

Oh? Uh... [He searches, but soon finds the card. He looks it over curiously. But his expression turns to that of slight disgust at the name of the shop. Because--come on, how high did you even have to be to name something that. When Karkat further explains the usefulness of the place, the relevancy of the name lessens, if it had things like that then the awkward naming could be forgiven.]

A ...job? [Oh come on! He was royalty, did he look like he was made to do menial tasks? No, he was suppose to be the one directing the menial tasks for others to do. He was starting to dislike this place. >:|]

[Pleaaaaaase Kar, he'll make it presentable and everything!]

[Well, that made things obvious for Eridan, he was going to see how he could fair with what he could get, if it came down to it, then fine, he'd get a pesky job, but he wasn't going to like it.]

Well then, I guess that's alright.

...

Uhh.. Hey Kar. [He was looking at the other troll, a little sheepish, it seems after all he did have a question. Maybe not so much about this place though...]

[:(]

[It wasn't a big deal or anything, what he needed to ask, well wanted to ask. It wasn't anything he couldn't live without knowing, he just... Was curious. He had no recollection of it, no memory of it's happening, he didn't even know where it happened or how long ago...]

What lead us to bein' moirails? I mean, other than what transpired today... 'Cause I'm pretty fuckin' surprised you hawe any feelin's for me at all. Ewen if they're shitty pale ones...

[Eridan listens intently, and no matter how much Karkat explains what happened, he remembers no more than he did before. It was perplexing really. Even though it did sound like something he'd do, say, what have you, he just didn't recall it. Made him wonder if it really was him who showed up here before, or maybe off shoot time line doomed self or however that time crap went. He didn't know and frankly, it was frustrating.]

[He looks to the place mentioned, but continues on, pausing when Karkat does, but continues to follow him all the same once he starts again. He was glad they were getting close, because he was tired of walking around in sopping wet clothing. He was a seadweller, sure, but he was never really one to get wet. Spending most his time out of the water after all. He had told Fef it was to keep an eye on the landdwellers, maybe it was true. Maybe he just didn't like getting wet all that much.]

[Though other than previous nods to what Karkat had to say, he didn't add much more to the conversation, silently following Karkat seems like the thing to do, and really? What did he have to say? Not much. He preferred to do the talking once they were at his temporary hive and not out in the open. He couldn't help but just want to get out of the open.]

[Eridan silently nods and listens, it was odd to say the least. Normally it was impossible to shut Eridan up, but he was finding it hard to find words at the moment. Between everything that had happened and everything he had done, he was finding that it proved rather difficult to find any sort of noise one could call a voice. Eridan was curious for Karkat's reasoning behind him trying to sleep at least once here. Why that was relevant in anyway--didn't seem like it'd have any specific reasonings he could put his flipper on, but he doesn't question it. Karkt probably knew what he was talking about, so he'd just try and follow what advice the other gave.]

[Even if he didn't realize how it might be something he regrets later.]

[When Karkat halts, Eridan nearly runs into him, lost in thought. He doesn't though, stopping in time. But then he just stares at Karkat, anymore questions? Yeah he had one.]

...Are Fef and Kan here?

[They might have been dead in his timeline but if this place could bring him here, then it was possible they'd get brought here too. Sure the question wasn't about this place--this place wasn't so hard to handle really. But it was obvious his mind was elsewhere than what all Karkat was explaining. He was definitely getting it for the most part--hearing what Karkat had to say that is. But it was increasingly less important than what he had to ask.]

[Eridan knew it wasn't the sort of question Karkat had meant, but it was the only question his one tracked mind would allow him to ask. It had been plaguing him since he knew there were other trolls here.]

Kar.. I wouldn't fuckin' dream a hurtin' her again, but... Alright, I'll stay away from her.

[Maybe it was selfish of him, but he really was hoping it'd stay that way. He wouldn't be able to face Kanaya, not after that. And seeing her--just yeah, it was better that she wasn't here.]

Anyway, about this place, I don't really hawe any more questions. [Or more so, I can't think of any because my mind is too much of a clusterfuck right now.]

[ACTION] tl;dr where do you keep coming from!? yerawizarderri April 23 2011, 20:18:54 UTC
[Eridan looks like he was physically stricken by the words, and really he might as well have been. He was already greatly regretting what he had done, and while he definitely deserved anything Karkat could dish at him--it didn't make it hurt any less. But instead of arguing like he probably would have if it were anyone else, he keeps silent. For some reason, other than the realization of what exactly he had done, he just can't argue with Karkat over this, anyone else he could put up that facade of his, fight and pretend he was justified, pretend he had some excuse for what he did--but Karkat could just chisel that away without a problem.]

[So just as silent as he had fallen when Karkat delivered that low blow, he follows him inside. He wasn't planning on doing any bitching. Not now at least, he just wanted to get settled, wanted to have a place to stay--a place to hide really. So he wasn't so out in the open, so vulnerable. He honestly felt at this point the world was against him, and he needed to just take cover, hide, not be found. Well, maybe the world wasn't completely against him, here was Karkat, who knew what he did, reprimanded every ounce of the horrid actions, but was helping him. Was still sticking around and helping him out--even if it was in that rough Karkat-like way. Hell, even wanted to still be moirails with him after such an awful, heinous deed.]

[It was comforting. More than comforting, to be honest. Eridan wasn't sure what he'd be doing right now had Karkat not been here. Would he still be killing people? Finding more victims to release his pent up anger on? Would he be dead right now? Maybe not dead, he was sure of it, his power was unmatched after all, but he'd be past the point of redemption and wouldn't even care, probably. And while that was an image that Eridan would have before wanted to live up to, right now it seemed so undesirable the mere thought of it perturbed him.]

[Which, he notes, was probably a good thing if he was trying to make himself corrigible. But who was to say that perplexity would stick around. Maybe it would if he truly was at all fixable, but Eridan had his doubts. He was, after all, worse than anybody.]

[Eridan definitely did allow Karkat to handle all of this. It was foreign to him after all and he wasn't really in the mind set to do this for himself. Again, he was grateful for Karkat's help.]

[He eyes the place, it was nice. Well furnished and roomy. He definitely wasn't going to complain.]

Well. I must admit this is a lot better than I was expectin'...

[He glances at Karkat, giving him a genuine look of appreciation.]

Thanks for this... I owe you.
