I remember that in high school, anyone who was the least bit different always felt shunned. After high school, however, the arbitrary label that people once gave you stops mattering. Just thought I'd put that out there.

I got shot down at the LCBO today, because I had ID, but Christine didn't (not her fault). Although I was buying for a minor (as am I), I figure that if they can't PROVE that someone you're with will be drinking what you're getting, they shouldn't be able to turn you down (provided that they believe your ID... and the cashier didn't even LOOK at mine!). People go into liquor stores all the time with their kids, and it's not like the cashier is ever like "Sorry, you're kid's under 19, you can't buy alcohol." I suppose it's a given that you're not going to make your kid a screwdriver, but still, some people are weird... and cashiers sell booze to THEM. Perhaps I'm just resentful, though. But if they can't prove that I was buying for myself AND Christine, then really, they're just being unfair.

I learned about schizophrenia in my psych. class today, and at the onset of one guy's disorder, he started hearing a voice in his head, offering to play pool with him. Finally they did play pool, and the guy used his right hand and let the voice in his head play with his left. The guy was right-handed, but the voice in his head, using his left hand, always won. Scary, huh? Anyways, I learned a lot today; I mean I wasn't totally ignorant about schizophrenia, but I definitely gained insight from learning about different people's experiences.
