I have two auditions for two summer programs in the next two days. One is the National Academy Orchestra of Canada and the other is The AIMS Orchestra in Graz, Austria. Both would be amazing. One pays, the other gives me an excuse to go to Europe. In both situations I would be learning a whole slew of orchestral rep and getting some opera experience. Getting into either one is wicked hard as they both only have 2 positions open... which is fine. I've been working really hard for 5 weeks. My excerpts are as perfect as their going to get. I honestly can't practice any more today because I was just doing maintenance work and everything feels honest and secure. I doubt I'll get in but I know that tomorrow I will play the best audition I can play at this point in my life.
