This journal needs something positive, after all my bitching about networks (btw, if I should ever learn to properly swear, this class will be the one to teach me). Hm, so what good has been happening this week? My mom sent me a package of Easter candy, including a small egg-shaped box of chocolates, which is most unlike her usual health-nut self. Feeling guilty for never sending me a birthday package perhaps ;) Yumm chocolate. Then Ryan took me out for dessert (which ended up being dinner - I got an appetizer too, and was stuffed for the rest of the evening) on Wednesday. Like, actually took me out, and paid for me! He's never done that before. Not like I minded ;) He'd been having a really rough weekend and wanted someone to talk to. It's gotta kinda suck going to community college and not being surrounded by friends. Dude will I miss that... oy! Anyway! Tonight was Meghan's pledge project, an APhiO pool tournament followed by watching "The Color of Money", which was about Paul Newman and Tom Cruise being pool hustlers. The tournament went better than I might have expected. Melitta and I were partners, and for our first match we were supposed to play Stef and Jackie but they didn't show. So we "won" that one. Then we played Theresa and Le, and it came down to us having one ball left and them being on the 8-ball, and they scratched, so we won. Then Melitta had to leave to go to dinner, so I got Josh to be her replacement in the semi-final match, and he sunk the 8-ball fairly early in the game, so we lost to Michelle and Stephen :P They went on to play Eli and Claire in the finals (so I knew at least one of my littles was going to win ;)), and Eli and Claire won. There's a very amusing picture of Chel and Stephen "trying to steal" their prizes. Neil and Jay had shown up at some point to check out the action, so after the tournament ended Neil and I picked some songs from the jukebox (we were in Scotland Yard, the new game room in the UC) and did our best to swing dance to them ("Johnny B. Goode" and "Luck Be a Lady") without disturbing the people playing ping-pong too much. We discovered it's pretty hard to hear the jukebox music unless you're standing right in front of it, despite the speakers placed around the room. I also had my face decorated with pool-cue chalk (they had red instead of the traditional blue, so I ended up with a Rudolph nose). The movie was unfortunately also difficult to hear, causing us to abandon our first room and have to wait for campus police to unlock doors twice. And the pizza guy somehow mistook Donner for Doherty Hall. But once we got settled we had a most amusing time. Michelle, Meghan and I were sitting together, and we kept making salad dressing references in regards to Paul Newman. We'd also dance whenever there was music, and ponder whether they'd ever tell us what the color of money really is. We were so thoroughly goofy, it was wonderful. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch a movie by myself. Where's the fun in that? ;) Oy, it's almost 4 am, I should go to bed.

Oh, and apparently I'm the reason that Jay does anything at all when it comes to APhiO ;)
