Truth in advertising

I was patiently waiting for my cafe o lait this morning when a woman walked up to counter and asked for a 'large-ass mocha'. Lucky, it dawned on me in just enough time to stifle the rising guffaw that she had actually most likely asked for a 'large ICED' mocha, and that my faulty hearing was just up to its old to tricks again, namely making me laugh aloud at the inappropriate time.

Nevertheless, the thought of ordering a 'large-ass' mocha has kept me chuckling to myself all morning long. It seems so obviously appropriate given our predilection as Americans for any-and-everything super-sized.

Bigger is better!

Anyway, it is now my humble opinion that the menus of all coffee shops everywhere, should read "small, medium and large-ass" in the interest of truth in advertising.

I am going to send a letter to my local representative.
Finally, a cause we Americans can really throw our weight behind.
