My take home exam essay was due today @ 1:00 pm. I turned it in at 12:55 pm! Go me :D So, that was my last piece of work for the semester... I'm done. For a whole month!
It has been nearly six hours that I've been free!
I wandered over to Blackwell's (it is so dangerous living only a one minute walk from a book store) and proceeded to buy a Shakespeare play I already own (it's at home though), a book of fairy tales, and the UK adult, paperback edition of Deathly Hallows because I had to leave ALL of my Harry Potters at home and really I just can't function without them.
But that spending spree took only a half an hour. Oh, Lars encouraged me to be productive by going with me to Tesco's. I know food is important, but half the time I really just can't be bothered to carry it all back home. BUT thanks to his support, I now have burritos for dinner!
Which brings me to my next point: I finally am able to back up my iTunes purchases - which consist of 4 movies, an entire season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, almost the entire SERIES of The Office, and tons of Ghost Hunters. I almost lost them once, I will not let it happen again. I had to have my parents send my blank DVDs though because believe it or not UK DVDs don't work in my lap top. haha, stupid region codes. ANYWAYS, now I'm waiting for them all to be transferred and I'm on disc six... And I can't really leave my room during this process because I have to keep inserting a new disc and well... I'm fucking STARVING. I want so badly to go in the kitchen and do my best Rachel Ray, but I can't leave. Hmph... Oh well.
And as a result, I'm dreadfully bored. OH BRIANS ON. Huzzah!
So on the twentieth, everyone is leaving for home. Well, Lars goes back to Norway tomorrow. Karishma's going back to India... Iona, Becky, and ALLL of my wonderful flatmates! Emily Boston is going home for good (she was only a semester exchange student) and I'm incredibly upset about her leaving. We did the most together out of all my flatmates! Anywho... My point is --
Janelle will be alone with her city.
Just me & Edinburgh! Getting to know each other ever better... Well, Lindsey will be here from the 24th - 31st! So I'm not alone for Christmas! I must admit, that would be sad. However, I will be alone for New Year's Eve. LoL I could just Bridget Jones it up with wine, pajamas, and sing along to cheesy songs. :D OOORR I could go up to Dundee and meet up with Karen. We'll see. I've been spending too much money...
Par example.
My plane tickets to Berlin & Paris. Yes, that's right! I'm going back to Paris! And I finally get to see Germany! Yaaayy! I'm going with the lovely, the oh-so-important, Jake Custer. While in Germany, we're taking day trips to a concentration camp and to Munich. Omg, it's going to be amazing. And ooooh Paris again!! I'm swooning as I type. March 21st - the countdown begins. [I almost put 'cuntdown' which then reminded me of the detroit 'hoe down' when I took a bitch out with a bathroom door].
I have a few goals over break and they'll be much easier to achieve without the distraction of....... humans. Like, actually doing the reading I was SUPPOSED to do this past semester. Or, more fun, reading for pleasure! Like my two Neil Gaiman novels waiting to be devoured. Also, MUST continue writing. Writing for pleasure that is. I've abandoned Cadentia for far too long. And also, continuing to wander the city aimlessly, which could be done with or without humans. Haha.
Disc 7 of my Disc 10 iTunes Back Up Brigade! One day, I'll tell you about 'The Great "Janelle Deleted Her Entire iTunes Library Off Of Her Hard Drive" 08' incident............. No, actually, that pretty much covers it. I managed to salvage 1800 of my 2200 songs (I said a sad farewell to those last 400) and implored the nice people at iTunes to kindly reimburse my £££ of purchases, which they did (and I promptly emailed a love letter to the company, proposing marriage to the whole of the iTunes Support staff).
I love/hate how the sun sets at noon here in Scotland. And by noon I mean 4:00 pm. I'm usually not up until 3! Hmmm, maybe I can work on my sleeping habits this Christmas... We'll see.
Okay. I may have to pause this back up thing. I'm getting dangerously close to tucking into my laptop again. And let's face it - the body doesn't digest metal too well.
