J's Birthday
Please excuse my terrible typing skillz. --
Thursday afternoon Katee gave me the keys to her car and asked me to pick up Jenann's boyfriend, Graham, from the Omaha airport [Katee had a class she couldn't miss]. I happily took the keys, with much dancing, and took J and Tami to the airport. We had to wait a little b/c Grahams's plane had been a bit delayed. But we found him, his bag, and headed back to Lincoln. We tried to call Katee and Chase, but they were in class or unreachable, so we stopped at El Torro near campus to feed Graham, who was very hungry.
Last nite, Friday, a bunch of us [two then three cars] headed to Omaha to celebrate J's birthday at PF Chang's [dang good Chinese]. [side note: Before we left I put a bit of clay wax in my hair, just as an experiement. The wax really only works with short hair for that ultimate "out of bed" look, but I wanted to try it with my long-ish poofy hair. We may have pictures later..]
Jody, Katee, Jenann & Graham, Brian, Chase, Tami, and I traveled to PF Chang's in two cars, and two guys from deviantART showed up that know J and Brian a bit. I got the Sichuan Chicken Chow Fun, had a cup of hot and sour soup, and three lettuce wraps. Woot.
From Chang's we drove to Cost Plus, and on the way Brian got us a tad lost in a neighborhood. The two dA guys, who live in Omaha, pulled around us and led us out and straight to Cost Plus. I don't know what everyone bought [I didn't get anything other than a nice sit in a leather chair], but the dA guys got an eight-pound bag of gummy bears. I semi-randomly had to steal some throughout the evening, either sending my minion Tami to get some or doing it myself. Mwah.
From Cost Plus we walked over to The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant. We had to wait a few minutes, so we hung around the entrance and out in the outdoor mall. Tami and I stood around talking about things. We were soon seated and everyone but me ordered something, which looked good, but I was so very full from PF Chang's. Jenann made a comment that I looked like I had stuck a fork in a light socket because my hair was up on end [the wax was fun]. I then borrowed a pen from Chase and made the quickest, lamest comic ever illustrating my frazzled hair. We'll/I'll post that sometime, also. ^_^
