Before you watch this video, you should know that I realize I did not smile all the way through my teaching experience; however, the smiles are all I remember. That will happen to you after a month or two off.
Enjoy!

On a side note, I think my demo lesson went well. The teacher said she thought it was a great lesson (and said nothing more...). Management though... I might just be too hard on myself, but maybe they consider the fact that I am not one to make threats that I can't follow through on-- What consequence can I give after a warning, moving seats, stepping-outside-for-a-one-on-one-discussion, and staying with me after class that will mean anything with only 45 minutes of contact (and YES, one students used up all of those options!) My sister said something that made me laugh-- "Remember when you had a student teacher, and you'd be nice because you could tell they were nervous etc?" I explained that WE were nice, but not all students are that way with someone new. I know that the first week of teaching is the easiest because everything is new, but with some kids, there isn't a grace period. It's the opposite of a grace period. You have not earned their respect. Respect comes with time. I hope this school gives me more time...
