I really don't do anything special as far as making the stir fry. I brown the onions in butter or peanut oil depending on my mood.
While that's in progress, I cut the meat into bite sized pieces, season, and brown it. I do brown the stir fry meat in oil. For the chicken I used powdered ginger, garlic powder and paprika.
Use 1 can each sliced bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and sliced water chestnuts. Drain them and add each type one at a time, let each part cook in for a minute or two, stir occasionally. Snow peas are added last. I ended up using frozen sweet peas last night which were great for adding color, but snow peas taste much better, IMO.
Serve the stir fry over the rice.
Optional: You can also top your food with cashews or almonds. Probably other nuts you can use, but those are the ones I had tried and liked.
A touch of soy sauce, if desired, can be added during cooking. I prefer to wait until it's cooked and let my family add the sauce to taste after they get it on their plate.
