The fan in my computer case has gone stewpid. It's not essential to the machine, it's more of an extra precaution. However, should I disappear from the internet for a while, you'll know why. There's a shop in the next town where I can buy the part and replace it, but not until Tom has the day off. It's a matter of replacing four screws and plugging it in. Oh, yes, as friend said, gotta wear shoes. It's an inside joke.
I'm taking brief break from cleaning up, doing laundry, etc. Mondays, especially every other one, are busy. We have bulk trash and recycle pick up every other week. Actually, the laundry is running while I do this. After Tom gets in, I'm taking the dog out front to brush him out before he gets a bath.
I should have sent in stuff for UM, but I keep forgetting. I sent things in for the last one, but didn't see them published. Hey SM! Let me know if you still have the stuff on the Harker Twins or not. I can resend that, hopefully before the deadline.
I got some things done in the garage. Put away cardboard boxes into the "hang onto it for mailing" bin. Dumped recyclables into the container for Tuesday's pick up. Stacked a few containers, made more open space. Looked in the hardware, etc. cabinet. (It's a broom closet thing. Shelves on one side and long space on the other.) Things in there eh.. mixed up, but small hardware is always usable, so in the Charles Chip can it stays! The paint and auto stuff can stay put as they are not outdated or dried out ... yet.
This week, I'm going into the other Sterlite cabinet. That one just has shelves; it houses game and craft items. I found a shelf piece that will help make a bit more room in there. Once that's done, I still have three sets of drawers on casters to sort and clean out. I have one to fill with things. I have a large metal cabinet full of craft and hobby supplies to go through. So, if you see posts of "want to give this to a new home," that's what it's about. Actually, I have another small cabinet that used to match a desk we had. Gads.. I just realized that I have owned it longer than my son has been alive. It's full of kits to build 1/12th scale dollhouse furniture and misc. other goodies.
These aren't my pages, (
Victorian Bedroom and
Victorian Bathroom ) but it will give you an idea of the furniture kits I'm talking about. Much like the person that did that site, I have some regrets about not hanging onto the dollhouse that was built from this kit:
http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/dollhouse-kits/pierce-dollhouse-kit.html. Tom said if I really wanted to get another one, he'd be glad to put it together and paint it for me. I'm thinking about it, but not anything as big as the Pierce or in the "awkward to store" L shape. While the
Greenleaf Garfield is a huge and lovely dollhouse, I'm thinking smaller. Maybe the
MacKinley, which is pretty much a dollhouse shaped shadow box that can be hung up or move away from the Victorian houses altogether and go to a Tudor like the
Harrison. There's probably enough stuff out there to furnish parts of two small houses. Hobby Lobby has a few nice kits and often has 40% coupons, so I've been looking over a model or two.
In looking over the movie quotes list, that I put up that posted yesterday, one movie, my all time favorite stands out. Another quote set shows why the female lead in the movie is the basis for the personality of one of my oldest RP characters.
Mary Kate Danaher: It's a bold one you are! Who gave you leave to be kissin' me?
Thornton: So you can talk!
Mary Kate Danaher: Yes I can, I will and I do! And it's more than talk you'll be gettin' if you step a step closer to me!
Thornton: Don't worry - you've got a wallop!
Mary Kate Danaher: You'll get over it, I'm thinkin'.
Thornton: Well, some things a man doesn't get over so easy.
Mary Kate Danaher: Like what, supposin'?
Thornton: Like the sight of a girl coming through the fields with the sun on her hair... kneeling in church with a face like a saint...
Mary Kate Danaher: Saint indeed!
Thornton: ...and now coming to a man's house to clean it for him.
Mary Kate Danaher: But... that was just my way of bein' a good Christian act.
Thornton: I know it was, Mary Kate Danaher. And it was nice of you.
Mary Kate Danaher: Not at all.
Years later, I learned that Maureen O'Hara had packed such a wallop in that scene that she broke her wrist. Here's a
transcript of an interview with Larry King that backs the story. She had interesting things to say about the death of John Candy and her long time friendship with John Wayne.

The dog is brushed out. Thankfully, he did not protest a lot. I need to buy a new dog rake or glue the old one back into its handle.
I took a lovely hot shower and used my Lavender Chamomile body wash.
Dinner was simple, Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger Macaroni.
The wind is blowing like crazy out there. Just figures as Tuesday is bulk trash and recycling day. Seems to do that every time we have those. Only one container of stuff this week. I'm not sure if that's bad because I didn't dump enough or good because there is less that needs dumping.
So, for Tuesday, I have general cleaning to do. Thinking fish fillets and fries for dinner.
Here's my list for this week:
General Clean (This is also referred to as UHBS and includes things like making bed, daily kitchen drill and picking up )
Laundry
Daily meal drill (Yes, part of UHBS, but the cooking is a world unto itself.)
Finish poll gift and find a box to mail it in!
Pack and mail the Easter things for my girls and their kids.
Buy new computer fan.
Clean out and reorganize the afore mentioned plastic cabinet. I have several plastic boxes (found in today's clean up) that can be used in there. In fact, some should be usable as makeshift drawers under the shelf I want to put in there.
I have two of three pieces for a story ready, need to work on the third. Also need to work on a side bar for that character.
There are still 3 quotes on the
movie quote meme that were not correctly identified.
