After Christmas...

First order of business. I received an adorable card in yesterday's mail from mummm! Thank you, Sue!

I was good and waited until Christmas to open the gift packages that arrived in the mail!

mistralwind sent along a candle that every chocoholic would love! Baking cookies (baking most food for that matter) is one of those aromas that fills the house with the warm and fuzzies. So, think about this, folks, the scent of freshly baked chocolate cookies floating through your home at the lighting of a wick! Mmmm.. yum.  She also sent an adorable ornament for my tree; a pair of reindeer having drinks at a cafe table! Very symbolic to me, toasting a friendship. Thank you so much! :)

rachaelwynter, as you may have see in a previous entry, makes wonderful character dolls with Barbies!  For my birthday, she surprised me with one of my longest played RP characters. For Christmas, she didn't send just one doll, she sent three. Those of you that I RP with over in the RRT will appreciate this one, three members of the Harker Family are seated under my tree. The bunny slippers and Mr. Bear complete the picture. Thank you again! :)

There were odds and ends in my Christmas bag  (like jammies and ), but I finally got a replacement of my old and long missing turntable with a Crosley 4 in 1. It's a player, only, but it's nice to hear those old vinyl records again. They have a model that records to CD, but it's about 300. Way too pricey for me right now.

My house has gone from mess to clean and back a few times over the last couple of days.

On the reading front, I'm on tape 6 of 10 of The Amber Spyglass, Disc 8 of 16 of Inkspell, and I'm up to chapter 16 in Voyager  by Diana Gabaldon.  Much to my annoyance, I discovered that somehow I had grabbed book 3 instead of book 2 in the Outlander series to run off to the plane in Oct.. Ah, well, can't be any different than reading Order of the Phoenix before Goblet of Fire. However, when I pass it along, I'll have to make sure to send a note with it.

christmas, gifts, books, friends
