So my darlings... last night was the most amazing night of my life, and I've never had so much fun at a school dance before and I hope that prom can live up to Winter Ball. Probably, because way more people will be in tow and we'll have a limo. But seriously- Kate and Anna and Angelique and Jeff and Kellie and Nikki and Kelsey and Barry and I went to Calendula, which was this amazing vegan restaurant that had the best pizza crust of all-time. And incredible soy milkshakes. I thought I was going to shit my pants. I actually ate french fries, spinach salad, cheese pizza, a vanilla milkshake, and a million different kinds of chocolate desserts, and everything was perfect. And we were there for FOREVER and we were really loud and taking a million and a half pictures and the old people sitting near us actually asked to be moved. How grouchy.
So we were in the restaurant until around 10:00, and then we made a mad dash for the Melody Ballroom to catch the last hour of the dance, and we had such a great time and everyone looked beautiful and my camera fell on the floor and broke (yes, that's right, my brand-new digital camera), but the night was so good that it couldn't be ruined by anything. And then afterwards we had to take Nikki home because she had church in the morning, which sucked a lot because I really missed her for the rest of the night, but while we were in West Linn we picked up Dawn-Dawn and we went back downtown and ate pancakes and drank coffee at the Roxy, which is this really cool 24-hour diner right by Jake's, and it was really funny because Kate and Kellie and I were in line for the bathroom and this drunk woman wandered over and tried to cut in front of us, and no one was going to say anything but then Kate said, "Um, ma'am, excuse me but there's a line" and the lady gave us this really dumb look and collapsed onto a chair in the corner, and I didn't really think about her again until I was leaving the bathroom and I heard her puke all over the floor. And I actually had to step over her giant puddle of puke to get out. It was disgusting. And really funny, in a sad way.
And then we went back to Kellie's and Barry had the excellent idea to build a fort, so Anna and Kelsey and Kate and Barry and I built a really cool fort in Kellie's basement and we watched Aladdin and slept on all of the pillows on the floor and Kelsey and I were up until 6:00 in the morning just talking. And when we all woke up, Kellie's dad had made us an amazing breakfast and the whole thing was just wonderful.
I think the key to enjoying school dances is to be lame-boyfriend-free. Also, you must get pictures taken, and you must always buy a picture keychain. And digital cameras are also a plus. Correct? Correct.
Revelation!
