Climbing

This week's Climbing was fun. Heppie (hepstar), Will & myself were joined by Lee (partiallyabused). After an hour of bouldering which completely killed me, we headed over to start climbing. Also really really upsetting that they removed my orange and black spotted bouldering climb that has been my nemesis since the first week. I'd not even half climbed it *pout* Also discovered that I hate everything left and they have managed to remove every climb that I loved on the bouldering wall (barring one, which I'm fully expecting to find removed next week)

After a couple of climbs, Lee arrived, so Heppie and Lee paired up and myself and Will paired up. We managed 8 climbs in total before our break, I did six level 5B and two level 5C climbs.

After our break we paired up again and I attemted to lead a 5B climb (yellow & black in the entrance between the two rooms) but when I got to the overhang (about half way up) I couldn't continue as I didn't feel safe to let go with one hand to clip in. So down I came. I then seconded this one after Will which was good as it taught me where I had gone wrong (I'd been facing the wrong direction to be comfortable). Next I lead the white 5A climb on the big boys wall (different one to last week without the bridge) which was really difficult as its quite a taxing and 'strong' climb (and I was knackered after bouldering). I probably climbed it several times what with all the climbing up and down and up and down I was doing! I'd get to the hold to clip in and lose confidence in having the strength to hold myself there and clip in, so ended up climbing down to the last clip point and sitting down to rest on several occasions! I then seconded a 5B climb on the small wall, and then lead a 5A climb which was so easy it was silly (Will didn't want to let me do it!). Followed this with a 5C climb (top rope) and then headed back out to the big boys wall for my last climb of the day, the 5A lead climb with the bridge that I did last week. Much fun indeed :)

So in total I did 14 climbs, three of those were lead climbs (two on the big boys wall). Next week I'm hoping to actually complete my first 5B lead climb. Its at least worth a try ;)

Was meant to be swimming today (Keith couldn't do Tuesday) but I've been feeling awful all week, and this morning I just didn't feel up to it. I've also pulled something in my knee, it is slightly sore, so I didn't want to overdo it.
