Update

I've got a fair bit to mention, the most brilliant of all being that Ian (uvjunkie) has decided to get up early Monday to get a train to his course, which means he will be here for the whole day of Ashton Court Festival on Sunday, and I get to snuggle in bed with him for an extra night *grins*

Last weekend we spent the weekend being very domesticated and for some reason spent most of the weekend in various garden centres. We ended up with three new additions to our household, some beautiful tiny fishies for our little garden pond (of the half a barrel variety). They are everso cute :)

Wednesday was lovely as I was invited by Lee (partiallyabused) to make use of a spare ticket he had to see Mark Thomas at the Comedy Box. It was a lovely evening, thanks again Lee for the ticket :)

Yesterday evening after work Kerry texted me to invite me for a quick drink after work which was lovely as we sat out in the sun, joined also by (NZ) Liz.

Last night on the other hand was not so lovely. I don't think I've ever been so scared in all my life :(

At just gone midnight, whilst I was happily led upstairs engrossed in my book, I heard banging and a guy shouting "hello". It was so loud that I actually thought someone was in the house. I really really scared me. I wandered downstairs checking all the rooms in the dark, too afraid to turn on the lights because I didn't want the guy to know I was up and about. There was no one inside the house, but as I got downstairs I could hear he was outside the front of the house. I am still unsure whether he was outside our house, or the neighbours. It sounded so loud I thought it must be ours, but the noise does travel easily so I'm still unsure. I could hear the bins being knocked and it sounded like he had moved to the windows to knock on them (again I'm unsure whether it was our window or not) - I was too afraid to open the curtains in case he was peering into our house.

This guy went on for at least half an hour, and it really shook me up. It went quiet for a while, and I led upstairs trying not to think bad things (as you do when scared) and then it started up again which really scared me more :(

Ian was a darling, when I called him up that late as I just needed to talk to someone; I hate being home alone at the best of times (when I was a child, this situation was my worst nightmare), so I was quite scared and felt really unsecure in the house. I contemplated calling the police, but I was too scared to do so (sounds stupid I know but made perfect sense at the time). In the end he must have just left, but I slept really badly all night after that :(

When I see the neighbours, I'm going to ask about it and see if anyone knew the guy, or had seen whether it was our house or not that he was knocking on.

However, this morning I've had some much better news. One of the guys here at work has asked for my assistance over the next year or so on what is expected to soon become a rather large piece of work, which means I'll be fairly busy over the next year here at work - which is great news, since work has been pretty thin on the ground recently, which just makes me so bored - I'd rather have work to do to keep me busy, as there really is only so much surfing that can be done in a day ;)

Anyway - I hope to see a fair few of you at the weekend at Ashton Court Festival - if you have our numbers please text or call either myself or Ian when you are there to arrange to meet up :)
