San Francisco Ponders: Could Bike Lanes Cause Pollution? Somewhere buried deep beneath the steaming CO2-emitting pile of BS there may be a grain of legitimate concern. Maybe. But seriously, what on earth is wrong with this guy, this city, this state, this society? How broken do you have to be inside your head to come up with this pearl of twisted ( Read more... )

Ouch.

This quote is lovely too: "attempt by the anti-car fanatics to screw up our traffic on behalf of the bicycle fantasy,"

This is insane... the person doesn't surprise me that much though. I knew there are crazy people around. The city behavior also seemed reasonable -- what do you do if you have crazy person -- you ignore him, maybe call a doctor.

What puzzles me is why judge didn't throw the case out given this level of arguments... I mean, if I don't like something, i can just sue? I think i am going to ask to close Lincoln and Holland tunnels leading to Manhattan for all cars. I don't think they have done adequate study pertaining the level of asthma in NY when they opened them.

See, the scary thing is I'm really not too certain what would happen if you tried. I like to think that we live in a rational enough world that people would just laugh at you, but stories like this make that belief harder and harder to maintain.

There's probably some overly generic law about how anybody can call for an 'overview' of the impacts of any new city project or something and the city has to do the review, ignoring the huge cost in time and money for the bureacracy. Or maybe the judge was just high on something... who knows. Sigh.
