Hey, I actually felt an earthquake for pretty much the first time ever! I slept through the 6.something '94 Northridge one, which was a bit disappointing. But being up on the 4th floor means the 5.6er in Alum Rock gave us a nice rocking. Nothing fell but the shaking was definitely noticeable. Actually, I was tutoring at the time, and am quite glad our bookcases (with their craptastic bits-of-string-tied-to-wall anti-earthquake protection system) stayed upright. I'm pretty sure it's bad for business if your tutoree's parents get squashed by a bookcase in your house. But yeah, nothing happened except someone went down our hallway telling us to go downstairs, so we went and did physics in the lounge instead.
