That's a contented ah, not a ranty ah.
We went on a 20 mile bike ride today to the neighboring town of Ely and it was *nice*. Lots of pretty country-side views and cows and horses and sheep and lambs and foals and swans and ducklings and generally very fenland-ly landscapes. And, of course, a giant cathedral at the end. Apparently 20 miles on a bike is really not as tiring as we thought it'd be. Mostly because the fens are probably the world's nicest place for bike riding in terms of complete and utter flatness. Though the ~4 miles over an overgrown footpath with repeated lift-bikes-over-stiles stops did slow us down a fair bit. But overall it was a beautiful, peaceful, biking in the sunshine (yes, it was sunny and warm *all* day long!) if-this-isn't-nice-I-don't-know-what-is kind of day.
