where did 2006 go?

No really, 2006 was always in the future - how did it magically become the past? What with interviews, grad school decisions, Ditch Day, graduation, wedding, and Cambridge it's definitely been one of the most memorable years in my life - and is likely to remain so. But somehow, it's all passed by in the blink of an eye and vanished into memory-land

i know exactly how you feel, and you describe it perfectly. this year was definitely a let down after the awesomeness of 04 (ditch day, graduation) and 05 (joining a lab, wedding). we did a lot of fun stuff this year (your ditch day and wedding featuring prominently in that list), but i think it got overshadowed by the everyday realities of long-term work, something ive never done until now, and the big-sucks of things like quals. if it helps, we're really looking forward to having you guys around here in 2007-- if nothing else, we can stir up some stanford-type trouble together ;)

yep - though I ended up not needing it after all. But now I have a skirt that's actually reasonable to wear in cold weather!
