Inhibition Rambles (Part 1)
Been debating on how my original story/comic Inhibition should go.
I've started off with two beginnings for a prologue and haven't decided which one I should go with I do plan to have a few volumes in mind. However I don't know in which direction it should go. I have it about a few aliens who start living within human society, as now they coexist living together. Racial tensions happen in the comic, considering for realism, I cannot see all humans wanting to accept them into their society, minus a few who welcome them. It's 50/50.
With Reggie, his species is a common Cliffdonger which is a leviating space dragon, however he is albino. He has no fur, can see well in the dark, and can levitate, but not if he has headaches. He is acompanied by his older and not-albino almost deaf brother Henry. Reggie is room-mates with a tempermental female Emotarix named Moody; a critically endangered alien (She looks like a composite of a white cat and a ring tailed lemur) and her pet Shabit: another critically endangered alien. (She looks like a rabbit, but can transform into a shadow.)
Now Moody faces alot of discrimination when it comes to job applications. Mainly because of her fur. Reggie has no fur, and has skin like humans. (He's a mammilian dragon) thus he was able to meet requirements to get a job on Earth. (thus jobs include: resteraunt/waiter/retail in clothing/ect.) Mimi the shadow rabbit cannot get a job on Earth, because she is a pet.
Along the same time, Reggie is trying to figure out what he wants to do in life, as he never really got to decide. He's been blindsighted by his older brother who wants him to fill his spot in the military after he has lost his hearing. Reggie eventually finds out what he's getting himself into, as he (and Moody for some reason) are put into several (some humerous) situations releated to battling, training, and tactics. He'll eventually come to realise that this is not what he wants. His immature, reckless, keet attitude goes through character development, along with Moody.
For Moody's situation, she is a runner up princess set to become a leader of her home planet, since her brother (comically) declined to take the job since he is the older sibling. For her, she's a rather angry character (defrosting the ice queen I'll say), since she shows resentment towards her older brother Wilson, since he is the favorite of her parents. Wilson is aware of this, but they both do share a close bond. Hell, he let her escape to Earth, pretending to get her back after their parents sent him. He knew Moody was unhappy where they were, and hated seeing her being passed up over him.
I also have a four armed semi aquatic alien character named Xaviar, a secondary character. He's a composite of a giraffe, sea horse, and a mermaid. His backstory is simple. He moved to earth, after he left his tropical home planet (it's like the hawaii of the universe) after he discovered that his wife had an affair, which has brought him grief. His character is sugar and ice at times, since he's still bitter and the affair thing is still fresh for him. He has a rather pessemistic perspective on romance. He's the youngest of the group being only 24 yearsold(reggie is 29, Moody is 32, Henry is 42, and Mimi being 25.) However with constant reappearences we see how he is after his personality develops.
Xaviar came to Earth without a trace and strugged to find a job. His former job was a spaceship mechanic. He happened to pass by a car mechanic as a gruff/husky guy is seen talking to a pair of aliens, saying how he cannot repair their ship because it's not his specialty. Xaviar happened to pass by and overhear, knowing what the problem in right away. Automatically (no pun intended, car mechanic, get it? ok I'll shut up) he gets the job with no interview. Since then he's been close friends with his boss. However due to his past, Xaviar lives alone. His apartment is literally next to Reggie and Moody's apartment.
Other then the chracters, I do have some stories planned with them, mainly the following (Not in any order):
- Moody going back to her home planet for a contest. (Reggie is labelled bodyguard in which he takes the role a bit too seriously.)
- Reggie landing on earth and meeting Moody for the first time.
- Both Reggie and Moody being transported to a training facility, and they have to work together. (I had a dream on this story) while Mimi invites 50 earth bunnies to their apartment because she was lonely, while they were gone.
- Xaviar going back to his homeplanet and stuffs.
- Reggie and Moody decide to open a club, after a discrimitoritive cafe club does not allow aliens to their place. They use an abandoned apartment room for such club and make a lot of friends and bring a comminuty together. (I can imagine a scene where Reggie and Moody talk about the idea, and a neighbor overhears wanting to join their club cause he loves the idea)
- Lights out with a snowstorm causing a power outage and Xaviar decides to join in the slumber party.
- Moody's job hunting adventures.
- ect.......
Part 2 of rambling will be kept in a personnal journal, since they will contain critical spoilers for the plot of the comic and I don't want those leaked.
