Download Monsters of Rock Festival
This post is so late, I'm ashamed of myself.
I had a most awesome time at the 2010 Download Festival at Donnington Park. My lime green car made the journey down, even on the scary motorway where I am sure all the Audi's and BMW's gang up and bully those smaller than them. Anyway, the girls made it through the road trip with me! Setting up our tent for the five nights was rather challenging as we had a three man tent pitched up in the space of where a one man tent should go, but it survived and I even brought it home with me! The weather stayed pretty warm until of course the last day during Billy Idol and Motorhead where it decided to pour down. However I doubt it bothered many.
ACDC were of course, brilliant. From Thunderstruck to Highway to Hell. Although I did get crushed in a mosh pit however it was totally worth it.
Even the smaller bands of Rock Sugar were brilliant and I can't forget the awesomeness of Y&T, Saxon and MegaDeth.
Slash was amazing, and still rocked out Sweet Child of Mine.
I was even impressed with the newer rock bands like 30 Seconds to Mars.
Aerosmith were the only slight dissapointment due to the obviousness of the band not getting on well, however they brought it back to awesomeness with I don't want to miss a thing and Walk this Way.
The best however, have to be ACDC.
So five days of drinking warm alcohol from the tent, no bathing and the unpredictability of english weather were of course worth it. I can't wait til next year!
