So I'm sure I mentioned this before but incase I didn't...
So I passed out at work about two weeks ago. Whoop-de-doo. I pass out alot. Well, not ALOT but I it's normal for me. But they insisted on calling an ems and sending me to the hospital, and said it was company policy that I go. So I said fine, after making sure I wasn't going to get charged for anything. They tell me they submit everything to workers comp. EMS gets here, asks me if I feel ok. I say yeah. They check my vitals ask me if I have a preferance in hospitals. I say no, and that I don't really need to go if they want to just call it off. They laugh and go around the corner come back and have a stretcher. I look at them like they are crazy and insist I can walk to the ambulence, but they insist I get on the stretcher so I do. We get to the ambulence and they take my vitals again. Then they take me to a hospital, where someone from primary is going to meet me, and pooka can come pick me up. Shelby from primary gets there and were talking, she tells me I could have refused the ambulence and signed a waiver, even though they never gave me that option. Then she tells me that when they submit it to workers comp its not a 100% guarentee that they will cover the charges. 4 hours later and having my vitals checked two more times they tell me i'm free to go.
a week later I get a call. workers comp isnt going to cover the charges. one more week later I get a bill from the ems. $450. this isnt including the hospital its just for the ambulance ride to the hospital. 450 fucking dollars!!$!@#!#!@#!@$#@$!@$%@#!@!
I'm not a happy cactuar...
