i miss the bible. i miss having to bring my bible to church because they don't conveniently have all the verses on a powerpoint presentation. i miss flipping through the pages looking for that one passage amongst hundreds of pages before the days of biblegateway.com. i miss using the yellow, red, green, and blue crayon highlighters i have to make sure that ink doesn't soak through the pages. i miss knowing the order of all the books of the old and new testaments. i miss knowing a million old testament stories inside and out.
technology sure has turned the way i use the bible around. i dont really need to have my little dark blue brick with the two yellow star stickers on the cover. everything's either on the internet or on the big screen. i think right now i know 20% of what i knew about the bible three years ago and it makes me really depressed. if anyone wants to hang out with me and talk about old and obscure and sometimes disheartening and sometimes glorious stories of the bible, please leave me a comment and let me know.
PS: i think having a digital textbook this quarter has made me a bit sadder than i usually am during finals time. =(
