“Mommy!” Dean darted to the hospital bed, but stopped short when he saw what was in his mother’s arms.
“Hello, sweetheart,” Mary murmured, eyes tired, smile radiant. “Did you miss me?”
“He kept asking about you and the baby,” John ruffled Dean’s hair, affectionately.
Dean peeked almost shyly at the tiny bundle. “Is that really the baby that was in your tummy?”
“Yes, it is,” Mary shifted her weight and patted the bed. Accepting the invitation, Dean crawled in next to her.
“Say hello to your new baby brother.”
Dean looked into the tiny, pink face and grinned, “Hi, Sammy.”
