As Castiel loaded their purchase items onto the conveyor belt, Dean smiled at the cashier, a thin-faced woman with honest-to-God blue hair.
“Sir, do you remember how much this cost?”
He glanced at the rock salt, his mind suddenly blank. “Uh… no, I don’t.”
Sighing, she turned to the sullen teenager bagging their stuff. “I need a price check, sweetie.”
The kid rolled his eyes, but did as told.
When the groceries were finally bagged and totaled, Dean sighed and pulled out his wallet.
“Damn,” he mumbled as they left the store, “I told Sam we should’ve gone to Wal-Mart.”
