THE CLEVELAND INDIANS ARE GOING TO THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!! They totally kicked some Yankee butt. I really hate the Yankees, but I hate the Red Sox a ton more. So I hope the Indians do well in the ALCS.
I have been a diehard Indians fan as long as I can remember. I loved them in the 80's when they were horrible. I cried with them with the boating accident that killed two pitchers during spring training in 1993. I fell in love with the team all over again during the great years from 1995-2001, and I watched every game during the intervening bad years. So this year feels especially good.
My late grandmother went to the last World Series the Indians won in 1948 when she was 8 months pregnant with my mom and her twin. Despite their awesome years of the 90's, the Indians have the second longest losing record in Major League Baseball, second only to the Chicago Cubs. They deserve to win. Heck, the city of Cleveland deserves to have a champion for the first time since the Browns won in the 1960's!
