Really?! If you don't made me asking why?

OK I haven't been exactly loving this season and it's only been the last few episodes that I have actual enjoyed. BUT I'm still happy for season 9 (don't want the show to end.) XD

Remember what Castiel said at the end of last season? Resurrection is a punishment. Every time it gets worse. Admittedly I haven't seen the Ben Edlund episode yet, but As Time Goes By didn't fix the show for me. They haven't resolved the problems with the first half of the season, they've just swept them under the rug. I see a show continually in damage control, reacting to fan criticism. Last season there was an outcry about the show becoming too dark and painful, so instead of seeing the storyline through to a conclusion that might have made sense of it all, they just dumped it and substituted a comic thread instead. Then they start a new season wuth two characters who are pretty much unrecognisable as Sam and Dean and when there's an outcry about that, they dump that storyline as well and substitute a faux supernatural plot that's supposed to please the fans. And it's like they're saying: "There you go, they're all close and brotherly again. We're making the show about family again. Happy now?" No. Sorry. I'm not. Not after what's ( ... )

You know, I was actually quite hopeful when I saw the very first episode of the series because I thought the twist was going to be that Dean thought it was all about the girl, when it was actually all about the dog. It was going to turn out that Sam hit that dog while he was blind with grief, then found himself landed with the resposibility of caring for it. And then he'd found that caring for that helpless creature had lifted him out of the morass of grief and given him something to live for. And that's what he'd found more important than hunting because, deep down, that dog had been his Dean substitute - his compensation for not being able to save and care for Dean. I was so disapponted when they ran with the predicatable Jessica substitute romance plot instead.
