Personality:
Deadpool is The Merc with a Mouth. Sarcastic, occasionally sadistic, mentally unstable and optimistic, he rarely ever shuts up (much to the annoyance of allies and enemies alike) . He jokes about death, life, and any subject matter that comes to his mind, turning deadly or bloody situations into his own personal comedic world. He frequently antagonizes his enemies (and his allies) with parody songs, cruel jokes or witty banter. Despite this joking attitude, Deadpool is a deadly killer. He rarely feels remorse (unless a love interest or very close friend is involved) and is very good at what he does, having learned multiple martial arts techniques in addition to his skills with guns and swords of all kinds. His mental instability has become both a hindering factor and a helpful tool, making him highly unpredictable in a fight. Because he cannot die, Deadpool has no fear in taunting his opponents or taking on deadly opponents and situations with abandon. However, Deadpool is very self conscious of the scars covering his body, the main reason behind him wearing his costume.
Because of the Healing Factor endowed on him by the Weapon X program, Deadpool's cancer was accelerated and his body is severely scarred. His brain cells are constantly dying and being replaced at a super accelerated rate. This results in Deadpool being mentally unstable and unpredictable. He recovers from head wounds, drugs, alcohol, psychic or telepathic injury and all other changes to his brain cells very quickly. The severe brain damage and constant rejuvenating of his brain cells, has left Deadpool with a case of psychosis. As a result the mercenary does not connect with reality the same way as those around him. He also frequently comments on the reality outside his own world, breaking the 4th wall of the comic world. He freely acknowledges his existence as a comic book character. It is also said he associates from dissociative identity disorder, creating multiple personalities within his body.
History:
DEADPOOL'S ENDLESS LOOP LIFE (in 'brief') Seriously I apologize for this. I attempted to condense it as much as possible and just... wow there is way too much to fit in here.
After learning he had cancer, the Mercenary Wade Wilson joined the Weapon X program, receiving the Healing Factor taken from Wolverine. The procedure sent his cancer into overdrive, scarring his body and mind immensely. After killing a member of his team, Wade is sent to Doctor Killebrew's clinic where the patients make bets on who the Dr and his sadistic assistant Ajax will kill next. Despite numerous torturous experiments, he survives and eventually escapes and resumes his Mercenary career as the costumed Deadpool
Deadpool gets hired to kill people, kills the wrong people/pisses someone off, gets hunted down, VENGENCE VENGENCE, Falls for Copycat and/or Siryn, Battles and/or makes up with Wolverine. Wash, rinse, repeat 20 million times. Endless loop. For more please check out his
wikipedia or his
comic book database or even his
bio on Marvel's website. It's just so much information. OR YOU CAN READ my really long nonsensical jumble of everything mildly important about his past at the very bottom of this application and let your brain explode! Your choice~
Extended condensed history, what the hell
Wade Wilson was a troubled kid with bad parents. His mother died of cancer (Deadpool later claims he shot her) and father was abusive. After some trouble with his delinquency he either was kicked out or his friend shot his father (Deadpool's tendency to lie and severe damage of his early memory makes his history unclear). Wade spent a short time in the military before turning to a life as a mercenary. He travelled to various countries, falling in and out of relationships as well as favor as a mercenary, using plastic surgery to change his appearance when his missions failed. After refusing to kill the father of a woman named Sazae he had become involved with, Wade relocated to the U.S. and fell in love with Vanessa Carlysle, a teenage prostitute he hoped to start a better life with, deciding to turn his life around. However he took on a mission to kill Blind Al and after failing, his employers targeted Vanessa. Shortly after, Wade learned he had cancer and broke up with Vanessa, not wanting her to suffer by remaining with him. He then desperately sought a cure for his cancer.
The Weapon X program offered Wade a cure if he participated. His cancer was paused from developing when he was implanted with Wolverine's healing factor. However, the procedure later accelerated Wilson's cancer, scarring his body and mind immensely. After killing one of his teammates Wade was rejected from the program and sent to the care of Doctor Killebrew and his assistant Ajax, becoming an experimental subject for the cruel duo. The patient's of the hospice placed 'deadpool' bets on who would be the next to die. During his time Wilson suffered many torturous procedures and experiments at the hands of the duo. The other patients grew to be impressed by his survival and his emotional strength throughout the torture. After many encounters with death, Wade came to form an almost romantic relationship with death. When Wilson killed one of his friends to end his suffering at the hands of Ajax, Ajax ripped out his heart and left him for dead. The fury and vengence in Wilson's spirit jumpstarted his healing factor and regenerated his heart, allowing him to attack Ajax and escape with some of the other patients. He then took on the name Deadpool to reflect the impossible odds he had beaten, becoming an unstable but renowned mercenary.
Donning a costume to hide his scarred body, Deadpool became a freelance Mercenary again, employed by various villainous, and occasionally heroic, organizations. Although Deadpool tried to work with the Canadian Government for a time, he found it not to his liking and joined up with the 'frightful four' for a short time. After this, too, did not pan out Deadpool took to frequenting the Hellhouse, a mercenary hangout. Deadpool switched employers many times, making many enemies (such as T-Ray) as well as a few friends (Weasel, Sluggo,, and copycat among them. The latter being his former heartthrob, Vanessa). Spending a fair amount of time in the service of a time-travelling arms dealer named Tolliver, Deadpool was eventually sent to kill Tolliver's father, Cable. Cable managed to defeat Deadpool. Many battles followed. During one of these battles the Weapon X teammate Deadpool had killed, Slayback, returned for revenge and gravely injured Copycat. Deadpool sacrificed part of his healing factor to save her.
Later Deadpool joined up with Siryn of the X-Force to battle the juggernaut, forming a strong, mostly one-sided attachment to her. Seeking out Copycat, Deadpool learned she was dating Kane and fought with Kane and Wolverine before being kidnapped by a group seeking to use his powers to find a cure to the Legacy Virus and subsequently rescued by Wolverine.
Deadpool hit a string of bad luck after this, losing his allies Weasel and Blind Al. He tried to set his life straight once more but was unable to throw away his killer nature and murdered Ajax. Afterwards he joined Landau, Luckman and Lake to kill Tiamat, a threat of the Messiah, but killed the Messiah instead.
His inability to stop killing and turn over a new leaf sent Deadpool back down the path of the mercenary. Seeking out mental counsel from the deranged Doctor Bong, Deadpool was advised to fight Wolverine to clear his mind. Although the tactic worked, the merc with a mouth was hit with a tremendous blow to his psyche when his late wife, Mercedes Wilson, was resurrected by his enemy, T-Ray. T-Ray went on to claim that he was the true Wade Wilson and Deadpool was a murdering imposter. T-Ray tried to break Deadpool's spirit, but the mercenary remained optimistic, infuriating the sorcerer.
After another battle and a mutual fight with the Werewolf, Duncan Vess, Deadpool and Wolverine finally parted on good terms. Later, to get treatment for the injured Siryn, Deadpool 'caught' Wolverine for the Watchtower Group. Siryn was cured and Wolverine easily escaped.
Attempting once more to start a 'new life', Deadpool moves into an apartment with some fellow mercenaries and the disguised copycat until the vengeful Wizard and the Taskmaster (Both seeking revenge on Deadpool) find and destroy it. Moving once more to a secret warehouse, Deadpool takes on sidekick, Kid Deadpool, only to have the warehouse blown up (Turns out Kid was ALSO seeking revenge on Deadpool for having a part in his father's death).
Deadpool rejoins the Weapon X Program under the influence of Sabretooth, impressed by an upgrade to the healing factor but refused to follow their orders when he was told to kill Copycat. Sabretooth kills Copycat and Deadpool confronts The Director, resulting in his healing factor being reversed and Deadpool's death. However, the upgraded healing factor lingers, resurrecting him and leaving him with amnesia until Weasel happens to run into him. Upon regaining his memory Deadpool learns that the Gemeni Star, a device of his enemy, T-Ray's, has spawned four aspects of his personality into Deadpool 'imposters' in an attempt by Thanos to kill Deadpool over his jealousy for the Mercenary's relationship with Death (whom Thanos has fallen in love with). Deadpool manages to damage the Gemini Star, forcing the personality fragments into T-Ray and taunting the now comatose villain over the fact that Deadpool is the true Wade Wilson. In exchange for returning to the living, Deadpool promised to stop flirting with death and was brought back to life. After an encounter with the Black Swan, Deadpool and Swan were believed to be dead (once more). However, Deadpool's underling, Nijo, gained the memories and skills of both of them due to Swan's telepathic powers. Later Swan and Deadpool found Nijo and while attempting to restore all three of them to normal, Swan betrayed them all and took their powers as his own. Nijo was forced to defeat Swan, and finally back to his old self, Deadpool was offered the position Nijo had taken up with Agency X. He declined and returned to his career as a solo mercenary.
