Shashiburi minna-san! It's been a while since I wrote something in LJ and I am planning to use this space to challenge my knowledge in using Nihonggo. My application on the JET Programme didn't make it to the shortlist. I do not received any email that I passed and get ready for the interview. This is much acceptable than the JFC's notification that you do not hit in any Arashi concert. Maybe the reasons why I didn't make it is because; 1. I didn't disclose in my application that I am currently taking my MA degree in English. All my credentials were from my Bachelor's degree 2. I don't have a conversational skill in Nihonggo. I think they are prioritizing those people who have JLPT Certificate and have the experience going and staying abroad and 3. I sent my application the day before the deadline. And all my requirements were done half-heartedly because I was so pissed off with my current job. Just because of these circumstances I enrolled myself to a proper Nihonggo class while having a full-time job, finishing my MA degree and looking for extra job to fulfill my financial goals.
I'm watching the second episode of Tonari no Chikara, the new Jdorama of Jun Mastumoto when realized that my knowledge in Nihonggo improved (well, thanks for the help of these self-guide Nihonggo apps and my drive to self study in these past few months). Before I can only understand simple words such as "arigatou" or "tasukete" but this time it is more than that. I can now comprehend some simple context but grammar is still a challenge for me because even I understand the words, if the placing or the order is quiet confusing, I miss to comprehend what the characters are talking about. So this time, as a practice while waiting for the class to start, I will challenge myself to watch each episodes without a subs and try to summarize all the possible context of the episode. I will write it down here on LJ and after I watched the subbed episode I will check if my comprehension or the understanding of the plot is correct.
So for the second episode of Tonari no Chikara here are my gathered context;
- Takuya-kun's grandma has dementia.
- Takuya-kun told Chikara to play along (not quiet sure about this). He also told that grandma was not yet taken to the hospital for the check-up or the grandma do not want to go to the hospital

- Chikara asked if when looking at them (Akari), Airi is inspired. Airi answered in zero because Akari work is too exhausting while Chikara's work is stupid and thinking himself too much(?). Maybe because he is a ghost writer and not doing things for himself.

- Chikara asked Akari why she is there. When Takuya open the door she said something about upstairs or above (uchi).
- Takuya said that he is glad that Chikara was there because he has something to tell him.
- Takuya told that he will not give up and do his best.
- Grandma told Chikara that she has a favor. (I can not read the memo because of the Kanji).

- Chikara saw Kotaro and told that he thought Kotaro and the girl next door is going to school together.
- Kotaro said that this not yet the right time to do that.
I think that's all! I'm sorry of there are grammar lapses as I wrote it freely.
