all the way at the otherside of the world..
so the scariest thing happened today. i was working peacefully, listening to my music when out of nowhere my officemate, fiona calls out and says "we have to evacuate!". in a daze i grab my jacket, my wallet and my cellphone. we were going down 17 floors!! WALKING DOWN! perfect..this is far from being ideal for someone who just had a knee operation - only 3 weeks post op - and i had to go down. it was hell. i still can't bend my left leg fully and could only use my right leg to step down. 1-2-1-2..at one point i moved to the left so i could make the others go ahead of me.. my other colleagues i told them to go ahead..but what the hell was going on?
it couldn't be a tornado alert bec someone had said yesterday that in case that happens, we have to stay at the elevator area where there were no windows..but we were going down... finally i reach the ground floor only to be told that it was a false alarm! sigh..
on my way home, rain is non-stop. in fact there have been flash flood alerts in the nearby county. i turn on the tv and what greets me? "tornado warning" exciting! hah..thankfully not in my county...
so this is how it feels to be in the mid-west!
